HOW
TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT
Routine Appointments
Patients may book routine
appointments with
any of
the doctors in the practice by telephoning
01625 872 299,
by calling into the surgery
or by clicking the EMIS Access button to the left.
Appointments may be made up to 2 weeks ahead, usually with
the doctor of your choice. If your chosen doctor has no free
appointments you will be offered an appointment with one
of the other doctors in the practice.
Acute Or Urgent Appointments
Appointments for conditions requiring urgent consultation
will always be accommodated the
same day. It may not be possible to see
the doctor of your choice, but you will be offered an appointment with the
duty doctor or a Practice Nurse as appropriate.
If
for any reason you are unable to attend or no longer need your
appointment, please let us know as soon as possible to allow us to
offer the appointment to someone else.
10 minute Appointments
The length of time for a routine appointment with your doctor is 10 minutes If your appointment goes over this, other patients will be kept waiting.
It may not be possible to deal with all your concerns in one 10 minute appointment. If you have a list of problems you wish to discuss please tell the doctor at the start of the consultation, so they can be prioritised. The doctor may suggest you make a double appointment next time to discuss any lengthy problems, or spread them over several visits.
HOME VISITS

If you are too ill to attend the surgery, we can arrange
for a doctor to see you at home. Please telephone 01625 872 299 before
9.30am
(if possible)
giving full details, to enable the doctors to prioritise and plan
their visits. Medically urgent calls will be dealt with immediately.
Please attend
the surgery if at all possible - we have a well-equipped surgery where we
can make the best assessment of your condition. In the average time it
takes to make one home visit, the doctor can see 4-5 patients in the
surgery.
