TELEPHONING THE SURGERY

The Surgery Telephone number is 01625 872299

Our Receptionists are available to answer calls from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Our digital telephone system is an automated system that supports more efficient call handling. Callers are given five options to direct their call to the relevant department/person.

for emergencies	PRESS 1
to make an appointment	PRESS 2
for prescription enquiries	PRESS 3
if you know the extension number you want	PRESS 4 followed by the extension number
to contact the operator	PRESS 0

If you do not have a touch-tone telephone, or are uneasy with using this system, please stay on the line and the operator will deal with your call in the usual way.

When telephoning the surgery please try to keep your calls as brief as possible, and if you can, avoid calling during the morning for non-urgent enquiries as this tends to be our busiest time.

If you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse personally, please telephone 01625 872 299 and press '0' for the operator. Tell the receptionist the name of the person you wish to speak to and give a brief outline of the reason. It is not normally possible for the doctors or nurses to take telephone calls during surgery, but you will be given a time to call back when they are expected to be available.

Please be patient and understanding if the doctor/nurse is not available when you call back. Surgeries may over-run, or the doctor may dealing with an emergency.

If you wish to telephone the surgery for test results please ring after 3.00 pm, allowing four to five days for the test results to reach us (NB some tests results may take longer). If any urgent treatment or follow-up is needed the Practice will contact you.
